LFD designs, develops, manufactures and repairs an extensive range of innovative lighting equipment for use with night vision goggles on aircraft and ground vehicles. Full consultation with end users at the design stage ensures optimal operational effectiveness LFD Limited was formed in 1989 in Gosport and rapidly acquired a market leading position for the supply of covert and visible lights to military aircraft customers on both fixed and rotary wing platforms, including external lighting suites for Lynx, Puma, Chinook, AB212, Mi8, Mi18, Tornado, MB339, F18, Sea King, AW159, AW101, AW149, AW139,AW189 and Alpha Jet. Included in the extensive range aircraft of LED based aircraft lighting equipment is the world’s first 2000 candela white LED Anti Collision light for the AW149 and AW159 Wildcat helicopter. This unit was developed with the support of Leonardo Helicopters. The company facilities include CNC machining, optical design, electronic design, electronic assembly and test.
