About Don Berchoff

Don brings 40 years-experience in the weather, aviation, and logistics systems to the UAS and AAM industry. Don has been fully engaged in policies, standards, and operational constructs created for the UAS industry since 2017. He has a deep understanding of the UAS and AAM ecosystem, concept of operations, data flows, and services. Don leads the ASTM F38 Weather Supplemental Data Service Provider Working Group developing weather specifications for UAS Traffic Management and Advanced Air Mobility systems. During a 24-year military career, he flew over 300 hours as an Aircrew Meteorologist, designed and led regional and global aviation weather centers and served as the base commander at Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzstan where he led logistics, security and ground operations. In 2008, as the NWS Science and Technology Directorate, Don was responsible for the transition of over $500M in new Science and Technology infrastructure and software applications into NOAA operations
